ADHD coaching for adults in Poznań

ADHD coaching sessions focus on specific goals from your daily life, such as starting tasks, planning the week or keeping track of deadlines. We work out what is not working today and choose a strategy. You try it between sessions, and at the next one we adjust whatever did not work. A session lasts 50 minutes and costs 280 PLN.

    Who is ADHD coaching for?

Coaching is for adults with ADHD who want to change specific things in their daily lives. People most often come to us when:

    • You already know where your difficulties come from, but that knowledge does not change your day. The diagnosis explained why it is hard to start a task, yet the report still waits until the last night.
    • Each new app, calendar or list works for a week. Then you stop using it and go back to working under deadline pressure.
    • Deadlines, bills and paperwork slip through your fingers, even though you remember them right up to the moment something else takes your attention.
    • Your situation has changed. A new job, university or returning from parental leave has meant that your usual way of organising things no longer works.
    • Medication helps, but it does not organise your day. It is easier to focus, but you still lack a plan for where to start and how not to lose track.

How is coaching different from psychotherapy?

Coaching concentrates on skills and organisation: what you do during the day and how to make it easier. It is not treatment for mental health conditions and does not directly address anxiety, low mood or the beliefs you hold about yourself.

Psychotherapy goes further. Individual psychotherapy following the cognitive behavioural approach (CBT) also works on emotions, avoidance, perfectionism and the marks that years of difficulties have left on self-esteem. In practice the two overlap: therapy also involves planning the week, and in coaching we talk about what happens when you put a task off once again.

If during coaching it becomes clear that anxiety or low mood is coming to the fore, we will say so and suggest a different form of work.

What happens in the first session?

We talk about the situations in which ADHD gets in the way of your day the most: at work, at home, with the things that keep being put off. We ask for specific examples from the past few weeks, because they make it easiest to see where the plan falls apart.

At the end we choose one or two goals to start with and a first small change to try before the next session. If you have a report from an ADHD assessment, bring it along: it helps us understand more quickly what you are coming with.

What do we work on in later sessions?

The scope depends on your goal. Most often it covers:

    • starting tasks by breaking them into steps you can begin straight away
    • planning the day and the week with spare time for things that always take longer
    • deadlines, bills and paperwork
    • reducing distractions while working, including working from home
    • getting back to the plan after a day when everything fell apart

You test each change in practice between sessions. At the next one we go through what worked and what needs adjusting or replacing.

How long does coaching last and how often do we meet?

A session lasts 50 minutes, at the practice in Poznań or online by video call. We agree how many sessions to plan and how often to meet in the first session, depending on your goal, and come back to it as we go.

    Does ADHD coaching work?

The 2025 Polish guidelines on the assessment and treatment of adult ADHD list coaching among the psychosocial interventions that improve everyday functioning. There is, however, less research on coaching itself than on cognitive behavioural therapy. In a review of 19 studies of ADHD coaching, only two randomly assigned participants to groups and 15 had no control group. The results were positive, but the authors note that small samples limit how firm the conclusions can be.

That is why we do not promise a result. In every session we check whether the chosen strategies work for you, and change them when they do not.

When it is better to start with something else

    • Low mood or strong anxiety is in the foreground. Coaching does not treat them. Start with a psychological consultation or individual psychotherapy.
    • You are in an acute crisis. After a sudden loss or another difficult event, crisis intervention comes first. It is easier to return to work on organisation once things have settled.
    • You are not sure whether your difficulties come from ADHD. The effects of chronic stress, lack of sleep, depression or anxiety disorders can look similar. An adult ADHD assessment or a psychological consultation is the place to find out.
    • You want to talk about medication. Coaching does not replace medication. Decisions about medication are made by a psychiatrist.

    Who leads the coaching

ADHD coaching is led by three psychologists who work in the cognitive behavioural approach.

Karolina Zawrotniak carries out adult ADHD assessments with the DIVA-5 interview at Oddech and helps clients match strategies to specific situations in their daily lives. She is a member of the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (PTTPB).

Julia Witkiewicz works with children and teenagers with ADHD and their parents, as well as with adults. She uses methods from cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).

Magdalena Konopińska also carries out ADHD assessments with the DIVA-5 interview. She has a particular interest in neurodiversity, which she develops through training and research placements. She is in the course of a four-year training programme at the Crescentia School of Psychotherapy, accredited by the PTTPB.

Sessions are held in English or Polish, and with Julia also in French.
